Colon Parasites aka Gut BugsImproperly cleansed colons containing literally pounds of fetid stools are the perfect home for a number of colon parasites that weaken their host. Proper colon care such as a healthy diet and regular cleansing can reduce the risk of these gut bugs infecting and reducing an individual's health. Colon parasites can enter the body through food, water, mosquitoes, sexual contact, or via the nose. Once they have set up housekeeping they have only two options for survival; they can share your food or literally have you for supper. People who suffer from malnutrition or poor health are especially vulnerable to colon parasites. They vary in size, some so small that they cannot be detected by the naked eye. Other, like whale tapeworms, may reach one hundred feet. Everyone knows their dogs are vulnerable to round worms but don't realize they can become infected with them as well. Clogged colons provide a welcome home for these colon parasites. These worms look rather like earthworms and reproduce at fantastic rates. Each roundworm produces over 200,000 young a day. Symptoms of roundworm infestations are abdominal discomfort, eye pain, and rashes resulting from waste secretions from the worms. Roundworm infestation can become quite serious resulting in blockages in the intestinal track, peritonitis, hemorrhage, and malnutrition due to lack of absorption of nutrients. Another nasty member of the colon parasite crew is the hookworm. Young worms can use their teeth to chew threw the intestinal wall to feed on a hosts blood. Symptoms that indicate you may have these nasty tykes as squatters include iron deficiency, irrational desire to eat dirt (pica), distended abdomen, and mental dullness. An infestation can result in death. One more colon parasite is known as the common whipworm. They are white and can grow to be about one to two inches long. Symptoms are bloody stools, pain in the lower abdomen, hemorrhage if they penetrate the intestinal wall, bacterial infection as a result of their burrowing, weight loss and anal prolapsed. Infected hosts may die as a result of hemorrhage and or infection. There are many other varieties of colon parasites but honestly isn't this list enough to propel you into proper eating habits and colon care? |
